The Management Development Toolkit is a key facet of the National Excellence in Workplace Management Scheme (NEWMS) - a national initiative to enhance the quality of management in Australian workplaces. Under the guidance of respected leadership experts, participants explore key themes and issues to invigorate their performance in the workplace.

Over a full day, the Toolkit provides an opportunity for current and aspiring workplace managers and supervisors to reflect on their own leadership styles and gain an understanding of competencies critical to effective leadership.

The day includes sessions on the importance of ethical values-driven leadership and a values-based organisational culture, and the link between resilience and effective leadership, with an emphasis on developing personal resilience and building it in others.

Participants are also introduced to a range of influencing tactics and are given the opportunity to identify how they might be able to adjust and improve their own approach to influencing others.
